Dr. Jordan d'Eon
Dentist
Dr. Jordan d'Eon grew up in the Acadian fishing village of Pubnico, Nova Scotia. He has had a strong interest in becoming a dentist since he was fourteen years old. As the first step to realizing this interest, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honors from St. Mary's University in 2007, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Dalhousie Dental School in 2011.
Since then, Dr. d'Eon has focused much of his practice on prosthetic and surgical dentistry, with a particular interest in dental implants — from single-tooth replacement through to full-arch rehabilitation. He completed the Kois Center curriculum in 2025, adding to his ongoing pursuit of advanced training in implant and restorative dentistry. He is a co-owner of Gateway Dental PEI in Charlottetown, alongside his wife, Dr. Peters.
Dr. d'Eon's patient care philosophy remains simple: identify the problem, discuss the possible consequences and solutions, and let the patient decide what they would like to do.
He lives in Stratford with his wife, Dr. Peters, and their three children. When he's not in the office, he's usually at the rink or the soccer field cheering the kids on, and enjoying the PEI summers with his family.

Dr. Marla Peters
Dentist
Originally from Souris, Prince Edward Island, Dr. Marla Peters completed her Bachelor of Science with Honours at Mount Allison University while playing varsity hockey for the Mounties. After spending time travelling Australia’s east coast, she returned home to attend Dalhousie University, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2009.
Dr. Peters is passionate about creating a comfortable and welcoming experience for every patient who visits Gateway Dental. She is committed to continuing education and providing modern, high-quality dental care in a friendly and relaxed setting. Outside the clinic, Marla enjoys spending time with family, travelling, hockey, and boating.
Dr. Maureen Gowanlock
Dentist
Dr. Maureen Gowanlock grew up outside Halifax, Nova Scotia and earned both her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from Dalhousie University. During dental school, she received awards for Greatest Proficiency in Clinical Dentistry and Orthodontics.
Following graduation, Dr. Gowanlock served in the Canadian military dental program before becoming a faculty member at Dalhousie Dental School. She later moved to Prince Edward Island and became the first female dentist to practise on the Island. Dr. Gowanlock joined Gateway Dental in 2015 and continues to enjoy caring for Charlottetown families with her friendly and experienced approach.
Dental Hygienists
Mignon
Mignon graduated from Holland College in 2002 with a diploma in Level II Dental Assisting. She also graduated from Oulton College in 2013 with a diploma in Dental Hygiene. She has been a part of the Gateway Dental team since 2014.
Mignon is proud to be a member of such a talented and dedicated team at Gateway Dental. She looks forward to helping all her patients achieve optimal oral health through personalized treatment planning and patient education.
Melissa
Melissa brings with her a wealth of experience from her years of working in the Dental Hygiene field and is proud to be part of the Gateway Dental Team! She is passionate about her work and the preventive care she provides. Outside of work Melissa enjoys exploring the Island and spending time with her family and friends.
Reghan
Amy
Amy is a Dental Hygienist who recently joined the Gateway Dental team after graduating from Oulton College in 2025. She is passionate about educating her clients about oral hygiene and helping them maintain healthy smiles while preventing oral disease. Outside of the clinic, Amy enjoys hiking, getting creative with art projects, and spending time with her twin sister and her two miniature schnauzers. Amy is thrilled to be a new addition to the Gateway Dental team and looks forward to building relationships with her clients and helping them achieve their best oral health!
Stacey
Stacey has been working in dentistry since 2002, beginning her career as a Dental Assistant before becoming a Dental Hygienist in 2008. Originally from Ottawa, Stacey and her family made a somewhat spontaneous decision in 2022 to pack up their lives and move to PEI. Along with her husband, three daughters, and a brand-new puppy, she put their house up for sale and moved to an Island they had never even visited! What started as a leap of faith has turned into a wonderful new chapter. Stacey and her family absolutely love life on PEI—the beautiful beaches, welcoming people, and strong sense of community. More than anything, PEI feels like home, and seeing her daughters thriving here has made their Island adventure even more special. Gateway welcomed Stacey to our team in 2025, and we are thrilled to have her as a valued member of our Dental Hygiene Team.
Dental Assistants
Dylan
Dylan graduated from Holland College Dental Assisting Program in late 2020 and took a year off to be with family and focus on sports. He recently completed his Level 11 licensing exam and was eager to join Gateway Dental and gain experience in the field. Outside of dental assisting, Dylan is a fulltime MMA athlete looking to find success in the sport.
Christina
Christina joined our team in 2019 after graduating from the Holland College Dental Assisting program and passing her board exams. She is an Islander from Montague but now enjoys living and working in Charlottetown. Anyone who has had Christina assist their dental procedure find her compassionate, professional and kind. She is very eager to learn the advanced procedures in dentistry and finds Dr. d'Eon an excellent teacher. Christina is in dental assisting for the long haul and we are very happy to have her on our team!
Fabian
Fabian grew up in Jalisco, Mexico, and has been working in the dental field since 2016. He moved to Prince Edward Island in the summer of 2023 to pursue the Dental Assisting program at Holland College, graduating in 2024. Passionate about dentistry, Fabian enjoys continuing to learn and expand his knowledge while providing compassionate care and helping patients feel as comfortable as possible. He takes pride in creating a welcoming and positive experience for every patient. In his free time, Fabian enjoys walking and exploring the beautiful nature that PEI has to offer. He also loves trying international foods and learning about different cultures, always enjoying the opportunity to discover something new.
Sarah
Sarah did her educational placement with Gateway and, upon graduation from Holland College in 2024, joined our team as a Dental Assistant. Sarah thrives in a fast paced environment and takes pride in ensuring patients receive timely, professional and compassionate care. Outside of work, Sarah loves spending time with family, going to outdoor concerts and being creative with crafting, scrapbooking and DIY projects!
Sterilization Technician
Itzia
Itzia is originally from Mexico City, Mexico, and began her career in the dental field in 2018. In 2024, she moved to Prince Edward Island, where she continues to learn, grow, and develop new skills in her career. She has a deep love for nature and animals, especially cats. In her free time, Itzia enjoys taking long walks while listening to music and taking in the beautiful ocean views and green fields that PEI has to offer. She also enjoys reading, particularly stories filled with love and drama. Curious, dedicated, and organized, Itzia enjoys learning new things and takes pride in keeping everything in its place. She is always eager to grow, learn, and bring a positive attitude to everything she does.
Office Administration
Katlyn
Born and raised on Prince Edward Island, Katlyn joined Gateway Dental in August 2021 with experience in administration. Katlyn enjoys the one on one experience with patients and always makes sure they leave our office with a smile. In her spare time she enjoys travelling with her husband and friends and loves spending quality time with her 3 children.
Carrie
Carrie joined Gateway Dental in early 2024 and has been a wonderful addition to our Admin Team. Carrie believes fully in embracing life's adventures and connecting with awesome people along the way. She is a passionate individual with a knack for problem-solving and enjoys finding creative solutions to everyday challenges. Outside of work, Carrie can be found spending time with family and friends, exploring new places, (she is a bit of a Travel bug) and trying out delicious food. Always down for a good time, Carrie believes in making the most of every moment and enjoying the journey together.
Jessica
Jessica joined Gateway in 2024 and has been a wonderful addition to our Admin Team. She is passionate about helping people and believes in serving people with a smile. Jess enjoys working with others, learning new things, and finding ways to make a difference. Outside of work, she loves camping, animals, binge watching TV, and spending time with family.
Janice
Janice joined Gateway in 2024 as an Administrative Assistant after a long and rewarding career in retail. Her love of learning and desire to pursue a new career path led her to complete a course in Medical/Dental Records, after which she joined our Administrative Team. Often the first friendly face our patients see when they enter the clinic, Janice takes great pride in making everyone feel welcome with her warm smile and cheerful demeanor. Her positive energy and genuine care for others make her a wonderful addition to the Gateway team. Outside of work, Janice enjoys spending time with family in New Brunswick, gardening, and, of course, adding to her ever-growing shoe collection!
Trish
Trish joined Gateway in 2026 and was excited to become a member of the Administrative Assistants Team. Although new to Dentistry, Trish brings along many years of customer service experience and enjoys a busy work environment, helping wherever she can and making sure every patient leaves feeling happy and cared for. Outside of work, Trish loves travelling, spending time with family and friends, and, most of all, making memories with her precious Grandchildren.
She looks forward to this new chapter at Gateway getting to know all the patients.
